Archetypal Tarot
Greer, Mary K.. Archetypal Tarot: What Your Birth Card Reveals About Your Personality, Path, and Potential. Foreword by Theresa Reed. San Francisco: Weiser, 2021.
Along with Rachel Pollack, Mary K. Greer is responsible for our modern interpretation and practice of Tarot card readings. Through works such as Where are You in the Tarot, which is mostly revised and republished as Archetypal Tarot, Tarot for Your Self, and 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card, Greer pioneered entirely new techniques for learning about and working with the cards, including being the 1st to present in-depth techniques for reading for oneself.
Greer has focused in this work on clarifying some of the most misunderstood cards in the deck - the court cards. By using these "people" cards to examine the different aspects of ourselves and the energy of those around, we can gain a more profound understanding of our readings. Greer's techniques for delving into the multi-dimensional layers of the cards and using them to explore one's own psyche are comprehensible and available to all.
Through Archetypal Tarot, you can learn how the tarot can reveal your personal destiny through a connection to astrology and numerology. Greer will help you to discover the challenges, gifts, and innermost desires of your life. This book offers detailed instructions, charts, and exercises for interpreting your soul, personality, year, and name cards, along with journaling and exploratory activities. Using only your birth date and a pen, you can unlock the power of the tarot to understand yourself and those around you.
