The Vegvisir (sometimes called the Viking Compass) is an Icelandic magical symbol intended to help one find their way through rough weather, or at least not lose your way. It was mentioned in the Huld Manuscript, and collected in Iceland by Geir Vigfusson in 1860. The Vegvisir consists of eight points (similar to the look of a clock or a compass) with each point having a unique design and magical intention.
