Malory, Thomas. Le Morte D'arthur: King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Introduction by Stephanie L. Budin. Leather-bound Classics series. San Diego, CA: Canterbury Classics of Printers Row Publishing, 2015.

9781626864634;

Malory's Le Morte D'Arthur is one of the core texts in the Arthurian literature.  Arthur and his knights of the round table are the central figures in "The Matter of Britain," a body of literature comprising the myths, stories, and legends from early medieval Britain.  These stories still inspire many books and films today.  Drawing on the legends of Camelot from French and English sources, Sir Thomas Malory compiled the drama of illicit love, of magic and sorcery, and of the quest for the Holy Grail into a sordid and chivalrous tale that has been recounted for centuries.

For these covers of Canterbury Classics books, the publisher, Printer's Row Publishing Group, uses "bonded leather," which is a composite material made from leftover genuine leather scraps mixed with polyurethane and paper. It is not full-grain or genuine leather, but it's designed to mimic the look and feel of real leather with decorative stamping and gold gilt edges (so the publisher calls them the "Leather-Bound Classics" series). With the addition of a ribbon bookmark, this will be a treasured edition of classic Arthurian folklore in any home library.

Thomas Malory was an English writer and the author of Le Morte d'Arthur.

    This edition is a previously-owned copy. The only faults I can find with this copy are that there is some hinge wear on the inside front flyleaf (see photo) and light wear to the gilding. In all other respects it is like new.
