Lady of the Lake and Excalibur

The Lady of the Lake is a significant figure in the Arthurian legend, known for her crucial involvement in King Arthur's story. According to legend, she bestowed upon King Arthur his infamous sword, Excalibur, and later retrieved it from him. In some versions, she even raised Lancelot as a child after he was left abandoned. Depicted as a powerful and enigmatic being, the Lady of the Lake is often associated with an enchanted body of water and her intentions towards Merlin and Arthur may be perceived as either malevolent or benevolent.
