Known as the "mother of liberation" Tara is a Goddess known to both Buddhism and Hinduism, and is deeply revered in Tibetan Buddhism. She is thought to be a Boddhisatva (a compassionate one that staves off liberation until all are liberated.) She is a protector, and also will help the practitioner move through challenges on the way to enlightenment (or just even through personal growth!). In her Green form, Tara encourages growth and fertility.
